Our A grade girls hit the court against Numurkah, keen to get another win under their belt.
Right from the first whistle, the girls had some strong court plays and strong defence which resulted in multiple turnovers.
The girls showed that they are continuing to gel as a team, which in turn saw the ball flow fluidly down the court for the majority of the game.
Savannah Wilson earned the Three Rivers Earthmoving Best on Court award through her multiple intercepts and consistent defensive pressure.
Shania Bentley earned the Essential Hair and Beauty voucher for her continuous movement throughout both the mid court and attacking end and goal circle, consistently making sure she was an option.
All girls played a great game and we are looking forward to a strong season.
B Grade - Finley 26 lt to Numurkah 28.
It was a tightly contested game for B grade that saw them up by five at half time.
Unfortunately the girls were unable to hold this lead and were down by two at the final whistle.
Isabella Kelly received the Riverina Fresh award for BOC, for her strong defence and numerous intercepts.
Sharni Sykes picked up the Finley Myotherapy & Pilates Award for her strong drives and determination through the mid court.
C grade - Finley 19 lt Numurkah 35.
In their first game of the season, C grade went down by 16 goals.
It was a great effort all round by the girls, providing most players had not played together before and some players were away.
The attacking end was working very hard against a strong Numurkah defence, and produced some lovely passages of play.
The defence end was the highlight of the game with Courtney Lunn GK getting best on (McNaughts award), along with Megan Vallance in GD who got the Country Club award.
A special mention to Paige Gray and Kate Purtill who did some fantastic work on the court while filling in.
C Reserves - Finley 65 def Numurkah 22.
The experienced ladies continued where they left off in tound one, with another convincing win against Numurkah!
Accurate shooting in the ring by the shooters, great defensive pressure forcing turnovers and quick play through the mid court all contributed to the win.
The defence end of the court combined well this week to earn them the awards.
Michelle Purtill won the Kelly’s Grains Best on Court and Sasha Wood earning the Daisy Maes Award.
A special mention to Nicola Denny on her great return to the court this week!
Under 17s - Finley 24 def by Numurkah 45.
With a few away this week we had Paige, Charlotte R and Addison C from under 15s bench for us.
Our set plays didn’t really work out with a number of missed opportunities and more changeovers than we would have liked.
A different shooting team of Josie and Tamzin worked well together and a mix up of defence.
With a few changes in mid court we were able to regain lost changeovers.

Under 15s - Finley 28 def Numurkah 15.
It was a fantastic win by our girls, and congratulations to all team members on a lovely display of netball.
Very tight defence was rewarded with spectacular intercepts and multiple turnovers throughout the defence circle and mid court.
Our set plays and strong drives down court were lovely to watch, which enabled numerous opportunities in the goal circle.
Charlotte Raffety (aka Charlie!) won the Finley Bakery award for her strong defence amd relentless efforts, managing to get her hands on plenty of the ball.
Charlotte Fleming was awarded the FFNC Canteen award for stepping up with her goaling, with strong holds and consistent shooting adding 19 goals to her name within just three quarters.
Under 13s - Finley 17 def Numurkah 11.
An amazing display of teamwork, beautiful passages of play and consistent footwork saw the girls take their first win for the season.
Maddy Price won the Finley Bakery award and Bella Rourke the FFNC Canteen award for their shooting and movement in the ring.
Remi Pyle received the Lachy Hawkins Encouragement award for her consistency in the mid court.

The girls came out firing with some accurate shooting and tight defence. Excellent passing down the court and great team work displayed by all.
