In the games Jerilderie did play it was pleasing to get a number of wins on the board.
There was a big improvement in skills and performance from our first game to the end of the season, by every single player.
Special thanks to the weekly award sponsor MAKATAK and IGA for the new shirts, the kids looked great in them.
A huge thank you to all the parents and supporters for assisting with scoring, umpiring or helping at training.
Thanks to Dylan for his assistance at training and Greg who umpired many of the games, and thanks also go to team manager Tiff Sutton.
The under 12 award winners for this season are James Winn (Batting Award), Kizzi Moore (Bowling Award) and Evan Lawton (Most Improved).
The B Grade side was also a reasonably young side this year, with three of the team playing under 16s in Finley, as well as seniors each week.
Two of these players, Travis Lawton and Cruz Nash, also represented Murray Valley Cricket Association in the Junior Country Week held in January.
Notably Travis tied in first place for the MVCA U16 B&F.
Dan was the other under 16s player making his senior debut this year and doing very well with the gloves.
This year also saw a few new recruits join the team, who all performed admirably.
Our season also interrupted by COVID19 and having players and close contacts sent into isolation, wet weather having an impact as well.
Thanks to Carson Thomas and Ian Girdwood who umpired our games at late notice when regular umpires were unavailable.
Club Awards winners this year were Cameron Arnold (Batting Award), Rory Knight (Best Under 21 Player), Travis Lawton (Duck Award) and Dylan Henery (Bowling Award and Best & Fairest Club Champion).
The Cricket Club history from 1979 has now been digitised and can be viewed on the club website.
The Honour Boards at Monash Park have also been updated, and as the Owen Guthrie Honour Board is now full, arrangements are in place to obtain a new board to record the most recent years.
