Long will participate in the first combine in three years from October 7 to 9 in Melbourne, testing his physical capabilities against 66 of the brightest young football talents in Australia.
A vertical jump, running vertical jump, 20m sprint, agility test and 2km time trial will be the order of business before Long, one of two Bendigo Pioneers invitees alongside Jason Gilbee, takes part in club interviews and medical evaluations.
“The Draft Combine sees the best players from across Australia come together to showcase their abilities in front of AFL clubs," AFL Talent Ambassador Kevin Sheehan said.
“The players invited to the 2022 NAB AFL Draft Combine are considered by AFL clubs to be the leading prospects for the 2022 NAB AFL Draft.
“We are very excited about the high level of talent within this group of future stars of the AFL and it is extremely pleasing to have all states and territories represented as we return to a national combine for the first time in three years."
Long has navigated a successful return to the NAB League after an early-season shoulder injury, and for Victoria Country has been one of the premier forward/midfield options in the side, collecting three goals in a win against Western Australia.
Kyabram and Murray Bushranger talent Brayden George has also been given the nod, making it two Goulburn Valley products bound for the combine.
