The organisation was a charity partner of the 2018 show held in September, and as a result has received a $10,000 donation.
Accepting the money on behalf of the organisation was its volunteer Steve Matthews, a Lockhart farmer who once worked in the transport industry.
Mr Matthews was also guest speaker at the event’s 2018 Wall of Fame Dinner.
‘‘This sort of help means we can now get things happening (Riverina Bluebell services) in more communities,’’ Mr Matthews said.
‘‘To have an organisation like the truck show support us shows the dedication of its members to the industry and its community.
‘‘This area is hurting like many others.’’
Truck Show Committee vice president John Creenaune said the committee recognised a need to promote mental health services in the district.
‘‘What Steve and Riverina Bluebell are trying to do in rural communities is very important, especially with what we are going through now (with drought and water management issues).
‘‘The money donated to Riverina Bluebell is a mix of pledges from local businesses attending last year’s Wall of Fame dinner, and from proceeds from the event itself.’’
Riverina Bluebell is committed to raising awareness of mental health issues in the Riverina and encouraging people to get help and support.
