Some people say, ‘‘that a life without a vision, is a life without a mission’’.
I think they are correct in saying that. Life is all about vision and mission.
As we begin this new year, let us try to go back on our own vision and mission in life.
Does your day-to-day life reflect on active pursuit of your vision? What prevents you from such pursuit?
I remember the quotes of Erma Bombeck, saying, ‘‘There are people who put their dreams in a little box and say, ‘Yes, I’ve got dreams, of course I’ve got dreams’. Then they put the box away and bring it out once in a while to look in it, and yep, they’re still there’.’’
It is not enough that we have dreams or vision.
We need to have a courage to translate them into a mission, like St Paul in the scripture text today.
He is not afraid, because he knew the Lord is with him.
Alone you cannot do it, but with the Lord you can do it.
Pope John Paul II once said, ‘‘It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness. He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you’’.
In my ministry, I often meet young people sharing their dreams in life.
Of course, I am happy to listen to them because not all people have dreams in life.
Like them, we need to pull out our dream box.
What are your frozen dreams? Do you still want to make it real?
The answer is not far from you. It is within, do not be afraid.
