The key forward’s heart certainly beats true for the gold and the blue spending his entire footy life at Ramland.
During his junior footy days he won two fourths flags and played in two losing thirds grand finals, as well as claiming individual honours in his last year in thirds in 2009, where he won the league leading goalkicking award.
Pitts also played three games with the seniors in his final year in the thirds and followed that up with 12 senior appearances in 2010 where he was selected for the Under 18 Murray League representative side.
After struggling to get a regular game in the strong senior side in 2011 and missing out on being a part of the premiership that year, Pitts made a move into the backline in season 2012.
In 2019 the 26 year-old has made a move back into the forward line, with Rams co-coach Troy Bartlett saying Pitts is a crucial part of the side.
‘‘He’s a fantastic servant of the club and has been for many years, so it’s great to see someone like him reach this milestone,’’ he said.
‘‘Pittsy is one of those blokes who plays for the love of the game and the love of the club.
‘‘He’s been a focus up forward and has taken his grabs and had a fair few shots on goal this year.
‘‘The luxury is that we can also swing him down back or even in the ruck due to his versatility.
‘‘He’s got a good motor on him so you can also throw him in the middle or on the wing as well.
‘‘We’re all quite proud of Pittsy in reaching this milestone so hopefully we can all perform well for him.’’
It will be an interesting clash tomorrow, with both the Rams and the Lions sitting at 6-3 after nine rounds.
Mulwala will head into the game as favourites after knocking off top four side Cobram by 16 points last week.
The Rams on the other hand will be looking to bounce back from a 32 point loss against Tongala.
The visitors will also be hampered by injuries with both Todd Gallagher (knee) and Ash Morris (back) out of the side.
‘‘We’re looking forward to the challenge against Mulwala,’’ Bartlett said.
‘‘Coming up against other top sides we haven’t quite got over the line so it will be another good test for us.
‘‘With Gags (Gallagher) and Ash out, it gives our next tier of onballers the chance to step up and have a crack.
‘‘We’re under no illusions that we have relied on blokes like Gags, Ricky Gittens and John Anstee but we have still had others step up throughout the year.
‘‘The good thing about this (Gallagher being out) is that it gives that opportunity for others to stand up.
‘‘While we lost last week, it was pretty even around the ground against Tonny. We actually had more inside 50s, so if we can start capitalising on our opportunities we’ll be able to knock off these top sides.’’
Selection: Mulwala by 21 points.
