An enormous response to Lockington Action Club’s Wool Off on Saturday has encouraged organisers to lock in the fundraiser as an annual event.

The club surpassed its initial goal of 100 sheep and ended up raising almost $2000 with the support of Echuca’s Nutrien Ag Solutions and Caddings & Co of Lockington.
There were 120 sheep supplied by more than 20 vendors for shearing, a constant flow of trailers coming to and from the Tennyson Rd shearing shed that hosted the event.
Action club treasurer Davin Francis said the response would probably ensure the event became an annual fundraiser for the club.
With COVID regulations dominating much of the past 18 months, the club has been unable to perform its usual community role.
