Fundraising coordinator Justine Keech said it is a major milestone, and makes the end goal of $1 million seem so much more achievable.
And with one week left in this financial year, Mrs Keech reminded community members that donations are tax deductible.
The fundraising appeal was launched in June last year, with the money raised by the community helping to complete a multi-stage upgrade of the facility.
The upgrades provide modern facilities for residents and their guests, specialist space for visiting allied health professionals and increases the number of beds to 60.
Construction and upgrades to residential wings have been ongoing for a number of years, using government grants and Navorina cash reserves.
Community fundraising will help with furnishing the new rooms.
For more information about how you can donate, call Mrs Keech on 0427 811 866 or Navorina business manager Skye Parks on 5881 3944.
Former Rams come back
The Deniliquin Rams Football Netball Club played host to a group of special people for Saturday’s home game.
The round 12 clash against neighbouring rivals Moama coincided with the club’s past players and club persons day.
Among the special guests was Loris Wills, who coached the Rams’ first premiership winning A-grade netball side in 1987.
The guests were treated to finger food and drinks while sharing their stories of years gone by.
In between all the chatting, current club members managed to snap a few pics.
More photos in Friday’s Pastoral Times.
One week break
We hope you got your fill of football and netball at the weekend, because you’ll have to wait a while for the next round now.
Both the Murray Football Netball League and Picola & District Football Netball League have a general bye this weekend.
The Deniliquin & District Soccer Association season will also be paused from this weekend, owing to the school holidays.
The junior soccer competitions will be on hold for three weekends, resuming from Saturday, July 23.
Soccer training will still be held Thursdays at 5pm during the holidays.
This Thursday’s training is a special one.
Coach Diego Sztejman will shave off his 1m long mane for the World’s Greatest Shave and the Leukaemia Foundation.
The shave will be followed by a barbecue. Families are encouraged to attend and show their support.
