There were 2,500 young lambs in the yarding and the weight and finish across the lead drafts was outstanding.
The better offering attracted more competition, with extra domestic and export buyers attending.
Price results for young lambs were similar to recent sales that have offered new season stock.
Although it is worth noting that buyers were selective across the young lambs, particularly those bred out of Merino ewes with less shape and finish.
Heavy old season lambs were cheaper in a mixed run, while lighter weight types were firm.
One pen of extra heavy young lambs sold to a top of $248, with the next highest selling to $226/head.
