An 80 year-old Deniliquin man has become the third person in Deniliquin to be found in breach of cross border travel conditions.
Police allege the man was in the Deniliquin CBD on Tuesday after returning from Victoria on Monday. He should have been isolating for 14 days.
Police say his reason for being in the CBD was ‘‘for matters not deemed essential’’ under the public health order.
He will be issued with a $1000 fine.
A 38 year-old Barham man handed himself in to police on Wednesday, seven months after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The man was initially charged with driving while disqualified in Deniliquin in September 2019, and ordered to appear before Deniliquin Court that December.
The warrant was issued when he allegedly failed to appear. The court convicted him in his absence.
