Philadelphus, roses and viburnum are just a few of the spectacular plants that drew in the crowd, who were later seated across the vibrant green lawns overlooking the Edward River.
Young and old enjoyed the afternoon, the sun shining and tea served, and helped raise more than $3700 for Navorina Aged Care.
Navorina Auxiliary president Shirley Willis said is was a ‘‘beautiful’’ event.
‘‘It was a huge success and we are so pleased with the turnout on the day,’’ she said.
‘‘We were hoping to get 200 people so to get almost 250 is incredible. We had a great mix of locals and visitors from all over Australia.’’
While the money raised has not been allocated to a specific project, Mrs Willis said there is a wish list of items to benefit the residents.
‘‘Everything we raise is donated to assist in the comfort of Navorina residents,’’ she said.
‘‘Not knowing how much we would raise, we could not plan to spend the money on anything specific, but we will be able to look at that now and see what we can implement with the funding.
‘‘I would like to thank everyone for attending and helping us raise money.
‘‘I would also like to say a huge thanks to Robin and Jayne for letting us host the event in their incredible garden.’’
The raffle’s first prize went to Libby Dudley and second to Armour. The gate prizes went to Nola Evans and Margaret Fisher.
