The estimated potential street value of the drugs seized was $6.3 million.
Police have described the amount as “commercial quantity” and a 30 year-old man has been remanded in custody on seven charges.
Officers attached to Traffic South West, Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting patrols of the Hay area shortly before 2pm Friday when they stopped a black Jaguar F-Pace on the Sturt Highway.
The driver reportedly returned a negative result when subjected to a roadside breath test, but allegedly failed the roadside drug test.
When the man was searched, police allege they found cocaine and cash in his possession.
Officers then conducted a search of the car and seized more than 5kg of methlyamphetamine, almost 11kg of cocaine, more than $130,000 cash, and two mobile phones.
The driver was arrested and taken to Hay Police Station where he was charged with seven offences:
• Supply prohibited drug equal to or more than large commercial quantity (two counts);
• Recklessly deal with proceeds of general crime with value of $100,000 or more;
• Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (not motor vehicle) (three counts); and
• Possess prohibited drug.
He was refused bail to appear before Griffith Local Court on Wednesday, October 29.
