As Jen was away travelling in the Northern Territory and could not attend the awards, Chamber executive officer Kate Pitt accepted the award on her behalf from 2024 Chamber Champion Kathy Simpson.
Born, raised, and educated in Deniliquin, Jen is a proud local with community spirit running through her veins.
Alongside her husband, she operated Owen Edwards Plumbing for 27 years, championing the value of supporting local businesses every step of the way.
Through her work at TAFE NSW, as head teacher of business, she’s supported countless local students in discovering their potential, building skills, and connecting with work opportunities.
Her work has bridged education and enterprise - strengthening ties between learners and the business community.
Jen joined the Deniliquin Business Chamber in 2014 and stepped into the treasurer role.
Over the next decade, she steered chamber finances through six different executive officers, a global pandemic, and countless strategic shifts - all with her signature steadiness and generosity.
Known for blending professionalism with approachability, Jen also played a key role in rolling out a new accounting system and generously offered support whenever it was needed.
Her push to introduce committee portfolios gave members space to shine in their own ways, adding depth and purpose to the chamber’s collective efforts.
During Jen’s time, the chamber was named Outstanding Local Chamber three times at the Riverina Murray Business Awards, thanks in part to her contribution in launching popular initiatives that brought the community together.
Through her combined efforts in education, business, and community, Jen embodies what it means to be a true Chamber Champion. The Deniliquin Business Chamber celebrates her contribution and lasting legacy.
