Running from Monday to Friday, council will host fun and informative events to “say a big thank you to our amazing community”.
Since the rollout of the three bins in July 2024, Deniliquin residents have made a huge impact, with:
• 104 garbage truck loads of recyclables diverted from landfill;
• 208 garbage truck loads of garden and food waste composted; and,
• an incredible 0.01 per cent contamination rate in green bins – that’s world-class!
The week is all about celebrating these achievements and learning how we can do even better.
Community members are invited to join Anna Kelly at Edward River Library at one of three friendly and informative Q&A sessions:
• Tuesday, June 10 - 10am to 1pm.
• Wednesday, June 11 - 10am to 1pm.
• Thursday, June 12 - 2pm to 5pm.
Ms Kelly will share practical tips on how to sort waste like a pro, and will have green organic bin bags for anyone who needs more.
Council will also be posting some of the best tips on its Facebook page throughout the week.
“Let’s keep up the great work, Deni! Together, we’re making a cleaner, greener future - one bin at a time,” council said.
