Steve ‘Watty’ Watt was celebrated in the Balranald community at the weekend - and across the entire district - for playing game number 663 of AFL.
Now with the Balranald Football Netball Club, the 59 year-old played his first game of footy in 1974 for Euston Football Club. There he was coached by 1962 Brownlow Medallist Johnnie James.
This year he has played 14 games in the reserves, booted six goals and is still going strong.

The council hosted a free dinner with live entertainment at Witcombe Place in Lachlan St on Thursday night.
There was live music from Mr & Mrs Jones and Phil, as well as a stilt walker, balloon art and magic for the kids.
There was also a rousing display of Highland dancing, as well as a range of market stalls to peruse.
Historic Echuca sale
After more than a century of being in the same family, Echuca Park has been purchased by a Melbourne property developer for a price between $40-45 million.
The 123ha property, which belonged to the Watson family for more than 100 years, is expected to be sub-divided into 1200 residential blocks as part of the Echuca West Precinct re-development.
Up until now, the property was used as a livestock farm.
Selling agent Andrew Miller from Nutrien Harcourts Echuca said he had been negotiating with four different property developers for six months, and before that was waiting for sub-division approval for about four years.
