Grand final brawl investigation
A ten point win to Lancaster should have seen jubilant celebrations take flight, instead spectators and players were involved in a brawl that erupted moments after the final siren.
Mooroopna Recreation Reserve was flooded with spectators after the final siren who then clashed with players in a melee that lasted several minutes.
Despite the best efforts of both clubs to stem the unruly behaviour flare ups continued to pop up.
It is unclear how it started, with police arriving around 30 minutes later to assess the situation.
Kyabram District League officials have launched an investigation into the incident determined to get to the bottom of it and reprimand those responsible.
Great turnout for important walk
More than 50 community members from across the region walked laps of the Finley Lake recently to honour lives lost to suicide each year.
They rallied to support the Lifeline Out of the Shadows Walk for World Suicide Prevention Day.
The youngest participant was seven months old and even the furry four-legged variety joined in.
The Southern Riverina Wellbeing collaborative coordinated the walk and registered to fundraise for Lifeline.
Moama B-grade’s triple crown
Moama’s B-grade netballers achieved a third consecutive premiership on the weekend, with a 21-goal win over Tongala on Saturday.
The Magpies led from start to finish at Moama Recreation Reserve, capping off a perfect season with a fantastic 52-31 triumph over the Blues.
Finishing the home-and-away season unbeaten on top of the ladder is a feat they have attained for two years in a row.
Saturday’s victory sealed 43 wins in a row.
