About 11.50am on Saturday, police were conducting stationary speed enforcement on the Kidman Way in Coleambally.
Police allege to have detected a Kawasaki Ninja 650 motorcycle travelling south at a speed of 203km/h before suddenly decreasing when sighting the marked Highway Patrol vehicle.
The provisional rider was issued a penalty notice for the offence of 'Provisional P1 licence holder exceed speed limit by more than 45 km/h', which carries a fine of $2,959, a loss of 12 demerit points (double demerits) and an immediate licence suspension for a period of six months.
In addition, the rider was the registered owner of the motorcycle which meant his registration plates were confiscated by police for three months.
$4m tobacco crop seized
About $4.4 million of allegedly illegal tobacco growing at a property north-east of Shepparton, has been seized.
The Australian Taxation Office, with support from Victoria Police, searched a property on Thursday, June 5, where they found more than 20 tonnes of allegedly illegal tobacco being grown.
The mature tobacco crop spanned nearly 2.4 hectares — the equivalent of about 90 tennis courts.
Officers also seized several trays of tobacco seedlings from the property.
Mining exploration plan
Fosterville Gold Mine has been granted exploration licenses in Lockington, Rochester and Elmore.
An exploration license gives companies the exclusive rights to explore for specific minerals within the specified licence area.
Ms Jackson said that an exploration license did not mean mining would occur.
FGM will begin by carrying out preliminary exploration activities along roads.
They will be seeking out permission from landholders to complete these works, which landholders can decline if they wish.
Should there be a need for any drilling during the exploration process, FGM will work with local councils to acquire the necessary permits.
