Aptly named Riverina, Place and Space, the exhibit features more than 50 artworks from 11 local artists, covering a wide range of bird life, nature and buildings known to the region.
The opening night was held on March 23, after being postponed from its original date last year.
Forty people were in attendance and were treated to drinks and finger food, while they browsed the three rooms of the exhibit.
Art Life Group member Marie Ritchie said the opening night was a great success, with eight paintings sold on the night.
“It was so wonderful to see all the artwork on display, and very exciting for our group,” Mrs Ritchie said.
Members who sold their artworks on the night included Gwynn Hamner, Crystal Myles, Bronwyn Bathgate, Marie Ritchie and Sarah Ritchie.
Sarah’s painting titled Tea with Marie depicts the usual scene of her mother-in-law Marie’s table when she visits for tea, featuring some beautiful Australian native flowers, a colourful tea set and you may even spot an edition of the Pastoral Times among the newspapers.

Mrs Ritchie said the ongoing feedback from the exhibit had been very positive.
“We were met with great enthusiasm on the night and the feedback has been very complimentary,” said Mrs Ritchie.
“We hope this exhibit will bring exposure to our very talented local artists and to the region.”
The exhibition is set to continue for some weeks into May. Any visitors to Canberra who wish to visit can do so by calling the Regional Australian Institute on (02) 6260 3733 to arrange a viewing time.
The exhibit is located on Level 2, 53 Blackall St, Barton. Canberra, 2600.
