The 71 year-old icon was a member of Cool Daddy and Mondo Rock before heading into a solo career, and settling in with his band Ross Wilson and The Peaceniks.
While the Ute Muster is renowned for its ute and blue singlet muster World Records, Mr WIlson says he wants to introduce another record the event.
It will be related to Daddy Cool's most famous song, 'Eagle Rock'.
"The crowd loves 'Eagle Rock', which of course has become a massive Aussie classic standard that I wrote back in 1970 and has just taken on a life of its own," Mr Wilson said.
"There is a thing people are doing, that I didn't invent. When 'Eagle Rock' is played people will drop their dacks and stand there with their pants around their ankles.
"So, this is a thing, it's across the board, its big at 21sts, it's big in the military, it's big everywhere, so we might be going for the world record pants drop as well (at the muster) ... but you have to keep your undies on," he added with a laugh.
"I don't know why people do it, but Daddy Cool was a fun band and it is just one of those ridiculous things that seems to fit the music. The people of Australia came up with that and I am very proud of them for that.
" 'Eagle Rock' never fails to get people up onto their feet and dancing around, I am really proud of that song and really happy people still remember it after all of this time."
This is the third Deniliquin Ute Muster Mr Wilson will perform at. His first appearance was in
Daddy Cool reformed to play the Muster stage in 2006, one year after Mr Wilson performed solo at the event.
"It is one of those things, book me and I will play.
"But really it is a great event, a massive event and it is an honour to be asked to play at the Ute Muster because there are plenty of people are trying to elbow you out of the way on their way there.
"It is great to be able to come back and do it again because Deniliquin is a great part of the world and it is a fun event.
"So, we will be there on the Friday - opening night - joining in on the fun, checking out all of the utes and the people. The main thing about the Ute Muster is the people, they are really great people and we love to join in with them.
"I am really looking forward to it and I can't wait to see some of the other acts and even a few of the local performances too."
It looks like Mr Wilson will continue to perform "all over the place", fuelled by a passion for music.
"I'm a professional musician, that's what I do but I perform because I love it," he said.
"But it is not only that; I found very early on that I wasn't a very outgoing child but when I got on the stage for the first time when I was 15 or 16, I really felt that is where I belonged and where I felt I could be myself.
"I love writing songs and singing what I write, I love connecting with people and seeing people dance. My mission in life is to help facilitate that and get people off their bums and dancing around and having a good time together to go home happy.
"So that is pretty much the reason I am still performing now."
