Fifteen years after they first played a small gig at the Deni Ute Muster, they are returning with a full-scale, main stage performance that is sure to leave you energised.
They will close out the concert on the first night of the festival, which will be held Friday, October 3 and Saturday, October 4.
The band has garnered a massive following - including a slew of Deniliquin and district fans - because they provide an eclectic blend of the best songs ever written, delivered with all the character of the original and twice the energy.
It’s also immersive, with the band known for mind-boggling, memory-triggering videos on the big screen, light up suits, confetti, inflatables and balloons.
Drummer and founding member Mike Solo told the Pastoral Times the Muster audience can expect a “super high energy set with songs everyone will know”.
“We tend to play stuff that’s fairly universal, and that includes a decent amount of country relevance.
“We will be bringing the dolls, and if we can bing the flamingoes and the pony, we will.”
The band has been known to bring special guests on stage with them in the past.
When asked if the Muster audience will be treated to something similar, Mike said nothing is planned, but also that nothing can be ruled out.
“If Anthony Wiggle is hanging around (before The Wiggles’ main stage performance at 2pm Saturday) we’d love to have him join us,” he quipped.
“A lot of people playing at the Ute Muster this year are heroes of ours, actually.”
Mike said the concept and execution of the Deni Ute Muster is also highly regarded by the band members.
“Events like the Dnei Ute Muster are unique in the way it programs what people enjoy.
“It’s the style of event where you see bands grow with the event and the audience.
“Just look at how long the Muster has been going; it has not suffered the ups and downs that so many other others.
“It’s as big as ever, and that’s because the event has built that trust with people.”
Performing at the Muster this year is a full circle moment for the band, who performed at the Deni Ute Muster in their first year starting out.
“This year is our 15th anniversary as a band, and it’s great to be coming back to the Muster.
“We performed at the Muster in 2010 and have not had a chance to come back yet, so when Vicky (Lowry) and Chris (Bodey) invited us, we were keen.
“We have awesome memories of the last time we were there.
“We were on the Bundy stage. We played both days, about three hours each day.
“People were having a really good time.
“We’re not sure if anyone will remember us from then, but we’re definitely a better band now.”
The Deni Ute Muster promises two unforgettable days of music, culture, and community spirit.
This year’s event continues its proud tradition of celebrating the Aussie ute and rural lifestyle with a jam-packed program for all ages.
Camping is a major part of the Deni Ute Muster tradition, with free general camping available from October 2-5.
