Hosted by the Deni Kisses Goodbye to MS group, anyone can participate.
Walkers are asked to arrive by 9.45am for the stroll along the Beach to Beach Walk.
The cost to participate is $5 per person, with proceeds going to charity.
A post-walk sausage sizzle will also be available for a gold coin donation, which is also donated.
Ambassador and walk organiser Robbie Landale said the walk is normally held in May each year, to coincide with International MS Day, but was postponed this year because of other local events.
She said the river walk raises money for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis in aim of a cure, and brings awareness to the chronic condition.
MS is a progressive disease affecting the central nervous system.
The effects vary from person to person, but can include fatigue, pain, bladder and bowel issues, movement and coordination problems, visual problems and cognition and emotional changes.
Right now, there are more than 25,600 Australians living with MS and there is no cure.
Three out of four people affected are female and 10 people are diagnosed every week, striking young people in the prime of their lives.
Mrs Landale is passionate about the cause, and is calling on the community to come along and donate.
‘‘We encourage everybody to get involved,’’ Mrs Landale said.
‘‘Come along, wearing red if you can, and join in on the walk along the river.’’
Participants can take the course at their own pace, for any distance they wish, starting at McLean Beach.
The barbecue will also be held at McLean Beach.
