Ute sculpture goes viral
Deniliquin’s recycled metal ute sculpture is going viral on Facebook ... probably not for the first time.
An admirer shared photos of Stuart Taylor’s public art work on a Facebook page called ‘Memewhile in Australia’ on Wednesday this week.
At the time our newspaper went to print yesterday, it had attracted 2100 ‘like’ and ‘love’ reactions.
The post had been shared 342 times, and had 138 comments.
Some of the commenters shared photos they had taken at Deniliquin themselves, of the famous Ute on the Pole.
Mr Taylor is one of many talented recycled metal artists in Deni.
His life-size Holden ute replica was commissioned under a joint project between Edward River Council and The Long Paddock, and was installed in 2019.
It replaced the mosaic ute, which is now displayed at Ute Muster HQ.
