One of Mathoura’s ski racing sons, Kane Horne, went off shore last weekend trying his skills in the Catalina Ski Race - an internationally resound event in Long Beach, California USA.
It was the first international event for Kane, who is well known for competing around Australia.
Sadly luck was not with him on the day. Hit by exceptionally rough waters which knocked him into the water, resulting in him being given a ‘did not finish’ card.
But that will not deter the Mathoura lad. He doesn’t give up that easily and is resolved to give it another go.
