Hosted by the Deniliquin RSL Club, the presentation soiree allowed the club to celebrate more than $179,150 in cash grants being awarded, split among 28 different organisations and projects.
The evening also celebrated another $168,500 in in-kind support to be shared among 54 applicants.
Club CEO Mel Clarke said she was pleased to revive the tradition of a presentation ceremony for the annual grants program, catered by the club’s amazing chefs.
She said while some applicants missed out on funding this round, the club was pleased to be assisting so many varied groups.
“We tried to give something to everyone who applied, but unfortunately we could not fulfil all requests,” Mrs Clarke said.
“We did however far exceed the compulsory minimum amount of funding we are required to give out, which is about $100,000.
Deni RSL chairman Bob Crampton led the ceremony and each of the cash grant recipients in attendance was given a brief chance to explain where their funding would be spent.
