Gleeful laughter echoed through the Deniliquin Waring Gardens on Friday evening as the community came together to celebrate Christmas.

The action started in the warmth of the afternoon, with the Edward River Community Christmas Party offering a chance to decorate your own Christmas bauble and meet Santa.

There were also games, information stands and food stalls, and the line for the jumping castle and face painting was always full.

Deniliquin Rotary’s Carols by Candlelight followed straight after.

Local musical talents performed traditional carols and other Christmas songs until dark, when the festivities closed with Edward River Council’s spectacular fireworks display.
