Store owner Megan Sutton said the store has played an important role servicing the area from Napier St, reaching a milestone for the store under her tenure this year.
“Diggers has been around for about 18 to 19 years, changing owners during that time. It will be five years in October since I’ve been owner.”
There is a long-list of Australian brands stocked at Diggers, Mrs Sutton said.
“We stock men’s and women’s high quality well-known brands, RM Williams boots and agricultural wear, iconic Akubras, Thomas Cook, Wrangler clothing and Merino wool jumpers which are locally sourced.
“We also do Brumby work shirts, good quality leather goods, also some luggage bags - mostly overnight bags.
“We sell a wide range of products, and usually have something to suit everyone.”
The store is positioned at 38 Napier St, in the heart of the Deniliquin CBD, which attracts plenty of foot traffic.
“I like my location a lot,” Mrs Sutton said.
“I meet a lot of people passing through town and have a lot of tourists come in and say how nice Deniliquin is, and that we (Diggers) have a lovely shop.
“It is nice to get that feedback.”
Mrs Sutton said the store continues to provide reliable, good-quality Australian-made products to the community in an ever-changing industry.
“We offer try-on and sizing in store, which you can’t get with online shopping. It is so hard these days for people to get the right sizes online, especially as the sizing has changed.
“People like to come into the store for that.
“It is also important for people to keep buying Australian-made, to keep it going.
“I have some regular clientele who come in and will only buy their clothes locally. I appreciate that support.”
