A number of Yarrawonga police units, CFA, SES and Ambulance Victoria were called to a two-vehicle collision on McNally Street and Tom Street at 4.50pm on Friday, April 26.
It’s alleged the driver of a Toyota Hilux ute was travelling west on Tom St and failed to give way at the McNally Street intersection, colliding with a local courtesy bus from the Ski Club.
The driver of the Hilux, a 20-year-old male from Highton, was issued with a Penalty Notice for Careless Driving. Yarrawonga Police Sergeant Bree George said the incident highlights the need for motorists to be just as vigilant when driving in and around the residential areas of town as you would on the open road.
Both vehicles contained three passengers, and it is very fortunate no-one sustained any injuries.
