Brad said it’s taking some time for people to realise and get used to the change in ownership, but he assured the community they will receive the same quality service and care they’re used to in this new era.
“People have been turning up looking to talk to Will, but Will’s not here,” he said.
“It’s fair enough. This is the first time in 40 years that Will is no longer an owner here.”
Will’s storied history with Deni Paint N Panel started in about 1985.
“It started off as a C&S Smash Repairs,” he said.
“In 2005 I took over Rodney Spinks’ half of the business, and it became Deni Paint N Panel.”
Heading into retirement after a long career servicing the community with all their smash repair needs, Will said he was “relieved” and happy with the transition in ownership to his former employee.
Will and his wife Barb, who also worked with him in the business, said their success was thanks to the community.
“We would like to say a thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years,” Will said.
“There’s a lot of familiar customers and regulars who come in.
“It’s now Brad’s turn to take on the tradition.”
Brad said his first month as owner at Deni Paint N Panel has gone well, and he is looking forward to providing the same great service to new and existing customers.
“I’ve worked with Will the last two years and became owner at the start of last month.
“It has been going great and I’ve been absolutely loving it.
“It's been flat out.
“Smash repairs is the main thing we do, servicing Deniliquin and surrounds - basically anywhere in a 100km radius.
“There are a lot of regulars, and we’ll try to keep things going as they have been.”
