The Groovy Dudes claimed first place in the junior section, while Anagram Riot placed third in the open and Izzy Pearn was third in the solo artist section.
A large array of fantastic amateur artists were featured across all competition sections, some travelling across the country to compete.
The artists were all recognised for their displays as up-and-coming talent.
The Groovy Dudes features Miles Allitt as lead singer and guitarist, Harvey Campbell on bass guitar and Darcy Nilsson on drums.
They were a class above their competition with a strong performance across their three songs.
The band’s music teacher and manager, Brett Allitt, said it was a fantastic result for the band, which is developing a local and regional following which sees them perform at various events and even hotels.
“They’re amazing. I’ve been teaching for 25 years, and this is one of the most talented primary school bands I’ve had anything to do with,” he said.
“They’ve got a big sound, especially for a three-piece band.”
The Groovy Dudes’ song line-up included Fly Away by Lenny Kravitz, Song 2 by Blur and The Pretender by The Foo Fighters.
The prize for first place in the primary school aged section was $300, which Brett said was significant for the boys.
“They were thrilled to win.
“They split the prize evenly, which is a great reward for the hard work they’ve put in over the last three years since they formed the band.”
“Their next gig is Good Friday at the Deni RSL.”
A win in the Battle of the Bands is not the only thing the band is celebrating from the weekend.
Mr Allitt said Harvey Campbell is still reeling at meeting one of his musical heroes.
“Harvey received a signature from King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s drummer, and one of the best in the world, Michael Cavanaugh, on his bass guitar.”
The young local band beat two primary school bands from Griffith, The Sonix and Naughty Nine.
Anagram Riot comprises Sarah Duffey, Scout Mckenzie Georgia Taylor and Connor Clayton.
They played a selection of songs, including R U Mine by the Arctic Monkeys.
Izzy Pearn impressed with her version of Something in the Orange by Zach Bryan and Stay by Rihanna.
