Deniliquin sheep sale report:

There was a reduced penning of lambs at Deniliquin on Tuesday, with sheep down slightly.

The quality of the lambs was fair to good , as was condition.

There was a good supply of well finished lambs to suit processors, along with a good selection for restockers.

The usual buyers were in attendance.

There were varying trends in the market for lambs to restockers.

Demand was a little weaker for the plainer condition light weights with the market trend firm to cheaper.

The heavier weights carrying more condition sold to a dearer trend.

Well finished lambs to processors in all weight classes sold to dearer trends.

There was plenty of skin value on offer in the sheep yarding.

Spring shorn Merino ewes were well supplied and condition was fair to good.

There was strong processor demand for all classes, but little in the way of restocker activity on the light weight sheep.

A strong market with trends dearer, there were significant gains posted in many cases.
