The yarding of 2800 included 2200 lambs.
Just the core buying group attended, but they gave much stronger support to any reasonable slaughter lambs which created a much dearer market compared to a fortnight ago.
The higher results were despite some smaller pens of a few head tending to drag back overall carcase price averages in many categories.
The limited sheep run was also significantly dearer.
There was not a lot of weight in the lamb yarding, with the heaviest pens only containing a few head which affected results.
The main run of heavy 26kg to 30kg lambs made from $214 to $245, with the neatest heavy trades making from $200 to $218/head.
These good processing lambs averaged just above 800c/kg carcase weight.
Merino lambs also trended dearer.
All weights and grades of sheep were keenly contested and sold to dearer rates.
