ERAS hosted a watercolour workshop by artist Elaine Camlin at its Cressy St gallery on Saturday and Sunday.
ERAS previously held a beginner’s watercolour workshop, and artists were able to build on those skills in this intermediate level workshop.
The Wagga artist shared her expertise with about 16 artists, who were able to extend their knowledge of watercolour techniques and refine their painting skills, with guidance and support from Elaine.
Participants built on previous knowledge, experimenting and learning about tonal values and hues, practising on a small sample piece, playing with and layering colour, and building colour.
Participants were then guided by Elaine to create a sustained watercolour, working on a subject or image of their choice.
ERAS member and workshop participant Sivonne Binks said the weekend was “lovely and enjoyable”.
“It’s always a great opportunity for local artists to travel to Deniliquin, meet other artists and build upon artistic skills,” she said.
ERAS has an interesting calendar of workshops lined up for the near future, with handcrafted sketchbook making on July 19 and 20, fabric relief printing on August 23, silversmithing on September 13 and 14, and seasonal bonsai workshops.
