A 67-year-old Yarrawonga male blew a positive Preliminary Breath Test (PBT) after being pulled over on Burley Road at 12.05am Sunday, April 28. He was conveyed to the Yarrawonga Police Station for an Evidential Breath Test (EBT) where he blew a reading of 0.073. He was issued a penalty notice for drink driving, and his driver's license will be suspended for a period of six months in 28 days’ time.
A few hours later, at 2.24am, police intercepted a 58-year-old Yarrawonga woman travelling west on the Murray Valley Highway near Bundalong. Again, the driver had a positive PBT reading and was conveyed to the Yarrawonga Police Station for an EBT, where she blew 0.120. She was also provided a penalty notice for drink driving and her driver’s license was suspended immediately for a period of 12 months.
Drug drivers caught
Police intercepted a 38-year-old Bundalong male on Sunday, April 28, at 7.20pm his vehicle was searched, and 1.4 grams of methyl-amphetamines were discovered. The driver then provided a Positive Oral Fluid Test. He was arrested, interviewed, charged, and bailed to appear at Cobram Magistrates Court on August 15, 2024, for possession of a drug of dependence and use of a drug of dependence. He was issued a penalty notice for drug driving and served with an immediate driving ban.
On Sunday, April 28, at 9.36pm, Yarrawonga Police intercepted a 55-year-old Mulwala woman driving on Telford Street with a disqualified driver’s license and provided a positive Oral Fluid Test for Methyl-Amphetamines. The female’s vehicle was impounded, and she will be charged on summons to appear in court at a later date for disqualified driving and driving whilst under the influence of a drug.
