Easter in the gardens

The Deniliquin Baptist Church will provide a free barbecue and activities for Easter.

Face painting, a Lego play tent, a free barbecue, giant Jenga, Jaffa smasher and, of course, the annual Easter egg hunt are all once again part of the Easter in the Park event in the Deniliquin Waring Gardens this Sunday.

The event is hosted by the Deniliquin Baptist Church, and Pastor Chris Taylor said each year people of all ages turn up and enjoy the free activities and family friendly atmosphere.

“It’s an event we put on for the Deniliquin community; to do something good for our town,” Pastor Taylor said.

“We are always encouraged by how many people come out in support of what we are doing,” church outreach worker Penny Fowler added.

“It makes the event worthwhile to see family come down and have fun together”.

As usual, there will be a church service that will include a kids’ story, live music and a short message about the good life we can experience in Jesus.

“For billions of believers worldwide, Easter is a celebration of the central message of the Christian faith, that Jesus not only died, but also rose again to life,” Pastor Taylor said.

“And because of this we too can choose the life he offers to help us make sense of the world we live in”.

“The Baptist Church loves organising this event each year and especially seeing so many come along each year to join us in what is the most significant day on the Christian calendar.”

Sunday’s Easter in the Park will begin at 9.30am and finish about 12.30pm. Everyone is welcome to join the celebrations!
