The Ladies Open, a stroke event, is on today with a 10am shotgun start. The $35 entry fee includes a two-course lunch.
The Men’s Open, also a stroke event, will be played tomorrow with a 10am shotgun start and a $30 entry which includes barbecue lunch.
There will also be ladies stableford tomorrow with a 10am shotgun start and $30 entry fee including a barbecue lunch.
Entries for both days are encouraged for this major event, sponsored by IGA.
Players are asked to arrive in plenty of time to ensure they are on their tee at hit-off time.
Another special event coming up soon is the MND charity day on Sunday, June 1.
This fundraiser is one of the best days on the Deniliquin golfing calendar, supporting research into motor neurone disease.
Golfers and non-golfers are welcome in the four-person ambrose event; 10am shotgun start.
Last Thursday there was a medley stableford event with two grades.
A-grade winner was Sarah Aitken with 36 points from runner-up Jenny Swainger 35, and B-grade winner was Yvonne Holmes with 38 points from runner-up Ann Bull on 36.
Saturday was also medley stableford, with three grades.
A-grade winner was Colin Drummond with 36 points from runner-up Jarold Sommerfeld 34; B-grade winner Sarah Aitken 38 points from runner-up Norm Purtill 37, and C-grade winner with the best score of the day was Jayne Hood recording 42 points from runner-up Tony Kew 38.
On Wednesday, the A-grade winner was Graeme Willoughby with 36 points on countback to Peter Locke, B-grade winner Rob Armytage 39 from runner-up Wayne Pitts 37, and C-grade winner Tony Kew 36 from runner-up Greg Collins 35.
Coming up, following the Deniliquin Open over the next two days there will be a 9 hole stableford multiplier on Tuesday, then stableford on Wednesday.
Next Thursday is fourball best ball including the ladies knockout qualifier, plus 9 holes stableford, and next Saturday is stableford.
The Rams Football and Netball Club Charity Day is on Sunday, May 25. This will be four-person ambrose with an 11am shotgun start.
Dining room hours have returned to normal, and you can now get a great feed at a reasonable price for lunch or dinner, Wednesday to Friday.
