Fauna park hosts wild weekend of education

The school holiday fun has come a week early for young ones, with the Kyabram Fauna Park putting on an event for animal and nature lovers alike.

Kyabram Fauna Park will be hosting Wild for the Planet, a family fun weekend event over the June 28-29 weekend.

From 10am to 3pm on both days, visitors to the fauna park can get a packed day of fun filled with face painting, crafts, jumping castles and educational opportunities.

Through keeper talks and wildlife workshops, learners of all ages will hear how small impacts can make a large difference in local wildlife habitats.

Across the park, hear from keepers at enclosures for the Tasmanian devils, cassowaries, dingos, koalas and more.

Wildlife talk times

  • 10:30am Tasmanian devils — Devil precinct
  • 11am cassowary — Cassowary Enclosure, northern fence
  • 11am dingos — Dingo Precinct
  • 11:30am reptile enrichment — Reptile Habitat, lawn area
  • 11:30am southern Koalas — Koala viewing platform
  • 1:30pm dingoes — Dingo precinct
  • 1:30pm Tasmanian Devils — Devil precinct
  • 2:30pm reptile enrichment — Education centre
  • 2:30pm southern Koala — Koala viewing platform

For a weekend filled with a good mix of fun, conservation and education, head to the Kyabram Fauna Park, Lake Rd on Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29.

The event is free for all ticket holders to the Kyabram Fauna Park, and kids can enter the park for free on weekends and school holidays.
