Wisteria and Willow is the Australian lingerie label she has created for women by women.
The label provides quality, sustainable and stunning lingerie to celebrate every woman and every body.
From selecting fabrics in China, to the pages of Australian Vogue, to a pop up shop in Deniliquin, she has felt all the highs and lows of owning your own business.
Her inspiration is empowering women by encouraging them to love themselves as their bodies change and fluctuate over the years.
Georgia said she had to work hard to raise the funding needed to launch her label.
“I worked harvest on our family farm, invested, did multiple side hustles and sometimes juggled three jobs at a time.
“I found mentally starting a business was extremely hard, stressful and you must develop a backbone very quickly,” she said.
The COVID-19 pandemic proved to be a devastating obstacle financially and in production.
“After spending months and thousands of dollars working with a manufacturer to develop samples for our full collection, the pandemic caused them to go into voluntary bankruptcy and set me back greatly,” Georgia said.
“It was four months and $4500 down and I basically had to start again.”
Even though she found another manufacturer, like the rest of the country she faced price increases, major waits on production and shipping.
Although there were low points she said a highlight was her first photo shoot.
“It was amazing seeing everything I’ve worked for come to life.”
She attributes her strong work ethic to her childhood.
“Growing up we were taught the value of hard work from a pretty young age.
“It taught me resilience, confidence and a can do attitude.”
She still helps with harvest every year saying, “by investing the money I made I was able to launch Wisteria and Willow.
“It was worth every hour, meltdown and sunset,” she said.
Georgia’s advice for anyone looking to create their own business, “just back yourself”.
“You’ll have good days, bad days, fabulous days, stressful days and some where you just need to cry.
“Celebrate the small wins and use the setbacks as learning experiences.”
Wisteria and Willow collections range from size xs to xl and the busty range is from size s to xl.
