Fire shed rammed

The Pine Lea Rural Fire Service shed has been rammed by a vehicle and fuel siphoned from the fire truck parked inside.

It is the fifth break-in of an RFS station so far this year.

Mid Murray Rural Fire Service district assistant John Temlett said the incident resulted in the Pine Lea brigade being “off line” until the damage could be repaired and the tanker re-fuelled.

He said it was just lucky there was no emergency.

“That’s five stations broken into this year, 10 per cent of our stations, and it is becoming quite frustrating,” Mr Temlett said.

“We encourage anyone with information to please report it to the police.”
