Council CEO Jack Bond said the funding will be used for improvements at existing stops and for the creation of new bus shelters.
While proposed locations for these new shelters were presented to the council at its July meeting, councillors agreed to have further discussions before confirming the sites.
The locations will be assessed further in councillor workshops.
Council has received $93,500 through the Country Public Transport Infrastructure Scheme Grant.
Mr Bond did say the existing Whitelock St coach stop would be included in the works program.
Council has also indicated existing stops at Pindara Lane, Deniliquin (near Lawsons Syphon Rd) on the Riverina Highway, near Blighty Hall Road would receive refurbishment funding.
The amount allocated to each of these sites is $4500.
The grant also allows for $80,000 to be shared equally to develop four new bus shelters.
Proposed locations to be further assessed by council are as follows:
• Crispe St, Deniliquin - north and south bound, near Henry St;
• George St, Deniliquin - opposite the Deniliquin Fire + Rescue NSW station; and
• Trickett St, Deniliquin - near Intereach’s OOSH building.
