Colourful and fun are two words which sum up the day perfectly, with cloudy skies breaking for a sun-filled afternoon of racing and frivolity.
Despite the cool winds, serious and social punters alike embraced the spring racing theme when it came to their fashion choices.
Pops of colour and florals were popular among the men and the women, with a few pushing the boundaries of country racing fashion to be standouts in the crowd.

Deniliquin Racing Club president Greg Danckert said it was a great return to October racing after four years, with previous years impacted by COVID-19 and then wet weather and flooding last year.
“Everyone seemed to have a really good time,” he said.
“Of course we can’t do it without the support of our races and Fashions on the Field sponsors, but the support of the general public was also amazing.
“Bar takings were the highest we have seen in a long time, and the wheel barrow raffle made more than $3000. The winners in that raffle were Karen Charlton and Barb Anderson.
“The Peppercorn Party Enclosure marquee was a sell-out, and there was also a great uptake of the private marquees.
“As a committee we are happy with how things went, and we really appreciate everyone’s support.
“We are custodians of the racing club, but this event really does belong to the town.”
Mr Danckert also paid tribute to Fashions on the Field coordinators Pip and Liz Whykes, who he said “did a fantastic job” organising and running the trackside competition.
Each section of the competition was hotly contested, and drew large crowds of racegoers to spectate.
