The group has worked hard over several years to showcase the shearing industry and raise funds for the Bra Fence which supports those affected by cancer.
It would be great if it was to receive some recognition for its efforts.
The award will be presented during Australia Day celebrations in the Soldiers’ Memorial Gardens.
Good luck girls and guys.

Congratulations to local bowlers, Peter Holzer and Dennis McHarry who have made it to the final four teams in the State Bowls Men’s Pairs competition.
Despite playing well, other locals were knocked out in the early stages of the competition.
Lady Luck also appeared to have taken a break last week with all pennant teams coming second in their games.

Students who ride their bikes to school now have a place to ensure they are protected from rain, hail and shine.
The school now boasts a fine looking bike shed where they can store their bikes out of the weather.

Today is the first of December, which is when I usually try to have my Christmas decorations up in the garden.
However, I have been a bit slack this year and the garden is generally bare.
I hope others have not been slack like myself as they have the chance to win $100 just in time for Christmas.
The Mathoura On The Map group is offering $100 in prize money for the best decorated house and garden, and the same amount for the best decorated business in town.
To enter all you have to do is call 0427 843 526 and give your name and address.
If you have to leave a message please speak SLOWLY AND CLEARLY so even Telstra gets it right.

Wow! How much rain did you get on Wednesday night?
It was the second major fall in as many weeks and will no doubt reduce traffic in my area, bringing harvesting to a halt.
I believe Deni had a drenching as well and is under water in many areas.

Mathoura Public School students had a great time with last week’s Colour Run.
And the best thing was that the mums didn’t have to worry about the clean up.
Mathoura Rural Fire Brigade was on hand to spray them down when it finished.

Mathoura may not have a ‘Biggest Morning Tea’ next year following the decision of co-ordinator, Aleisha McIntosh, to take a break.
Aleisha, together with Tegan and Morgan Hadjialexiou, have conducted the cancer fundraiser for the past couple of years, raising hundreds of dollars for cancer research.
However, with the Hadjialexiou’s having moved on and Aleisha wanting to take a break, its future is up in the air unless another group is prepared to take up where they left off.
Thank you Aleisha for your efforts.
