Envelopes to be included in the time capsule must be returned to My Shop in Napier St by next Friday, May 30.
These will be placed inside the time capsule, which will be buried on June 14 and not brought up again until 2050.
Envelopes are still available and cost from $10 to $100, depending on size.
They can be purchased from My Shop in Napier St, 1521/2QN or the Pastoral Times office.
Envelopes will also be on sale at the Deniliquin Cressy St Kiosk and the Deniliquin Lions Community Market tomorrow.
Not sure what to put in your time capsule?
It can be almost anything that fits inside your envelope, but perhaps avoid digital storage devices which may no longer be used in 25 years.
Here’s a few ideas that may help you complete your envelope:
• A handwritten letter to the future - Share your thoughts, hopes, and predictions for the future. Include personal reflections or messages to whoever opens the capsule.
• A newspaper from today - Capture a snapshot of current events, trends, and public opinion.
• Photos of everyday life - Include printed photos of your home, neighbourhood, friends, family, or even your favourite hangout spots.
• Popular culture items - Add a movie ticket stub, a concert wristband, or a list of your favourite songs, shows, or memes.
• A price list or receipt - Show what things cost today, like groceries, petrol, tech gadgets, etc.
• A fashion item or accessory - Include a small item like a bracelet or pin.
• A personal artefact - Something meaningful to you, like a journal entry, a drawing, or a favourite quote written on a card.
• A message from friends or family - Collect short notes or drawings from people close to you, adding a personal and emotional touch.
