Great progress at ski school

There was good attendance at Deniliquin Boat Club’s ski school on Friday evening when young skiers were keen to jump into the boats with experienced volunteers and work towards their goals.

The first award was given to Sophie and Olivia Pearce, who both skied individually behind Gilflite using double skis, but this time without the stabilising bar.

Their father ‘Sparky’ gave lots of encouragement and support in the water before the girls set off.

The second award was given to our now-regular skier, Kayleah Harvey.

Kayleah plucked up the courage, attempted to ski behind the boat for her first time, and successfully got up on two skis.

Kayleah was all smiles and bouncing with excitement following her lesson.

The club would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to all the wonderful volunteers who helped out on the night – to Leigh Holmberg and Jake Clancy for driving the boats and to observers Chloe Macknight, Jaymie Clancy, Ben Purtill and Sparky Pearce.

The ski school Christmas party is set for Friday, December 15, from 5pm.

There will be a special visit from Santa and his elves.
