Emergency service and defence force personnel from across Australia are using Deniliquin as a hub from which flood co-ordination operations across the region are directed.

While you’re out and about in Deniliquin over the next couple of weeks, please make our volunteer and paid visitors to the region welcome, as they put in many long hours away from family and their own homes, some of which may also come under threat of flooding soon.
Here are a few of the emergency personnel who are temporarily calling Deniliquin their home away from home.
Having breakfast at Jodh’s Bakehouse were (right) NSW RFS personnel Cal Murdoch and Shy Little, both from Wagga Wagga and (left) NSW RFS personnel Dave Jones from Orange and Ethan Bird from Cowra.
RFS personnel member Luke Robinson is in charge of the facility construction creating the village for emergency personnel at the Deni Ute Muster site. He comes from Sydney’s Northern Beaches and boogie boarding is a learned skill he’s obtained.
RFS personnel member Peter Duff is also in charge of creating the village and hails from Sydney’s Northern Beaches and loves to surf.
Heath Stimson is the RFS Area Commander and is a fantastic engaging people person who leads a wonderful group of people. He is from Tamworth and while helping down here also has flood problems in his local area. Dylan Craigie-Duke is from Moree and is an integral part of the team.
Saheed Ali RFS member is the Transport Officer ensuring all the convey reach their alloted destinations on time.
