The surprise presentation was made to the B grade player and Blighty Netball Club vice president during the official opening of the new netball and tennis clubrooms at the Blighty Recreation Reserve.
It was made by league president Denis Brooks, making Plattfuss the second netballer to receive league life membership this year.
"I was only reading about Rachael Howden's (Katunga) league life membership, and was saying to everyone 'isn't it fantastic Rachael got this', then I got mine," Plattfuss said.
"I have played years of netball with Rachael and she does a lot.
"It was such a surprise and I felt really humbled. What you're doing for the club you're also doing for the league.
"To be a life member of the league is very special."
PDFNL operations manager Shane Railton said Plattfuss has been honoured for her roles in coaching and umpiring at a league level.
He said her induction was made possible due to a change in how netball life memberships are considered.
"Judy has coached interleague sides, including the under 15s last year," he said.
"She's also umpired at interleague.
"We made a change this year that, like in football, life membership consideration is triggered when a netballer has reached 300 A grade games.
"Rachael Howden was the first to get life membership this year and Judy was the second, and I presume she will be the last for this season."
The honour is the second life membership for Plattfuss, who made made a Blighty Netball Club life member in 2007.
Plattfuss has had a storied career, first playing as a part of Blighty's ‘Red Robins’ in 1974.
Her first senior game for Blighty came in 1980, while her first A grade premiership with the club was not until 1999.
The season prior, in 1998, Plattfuss claimed the league A grade best and fairest. The star netballer has also claimed 10 club best and fairests along with 10 highest goal scoring awards.
Plattfuss said for the presentation to be made the same day as the clubrooms' official opening - a project she was actively involved in as a member of the Blighty Advancement Committee - made it a fantastic day.
"It's something I have been involved in since the beginning and to have awards for Andy Lostroh, Penny Gallpen and Kristeen Culton on the same day made it such a wonderful Blighty community event.
"It was great to see so many of the older members there, and after my game they were all still in the clubrooms having cups of tea and catching up."
