As the festive season approached, the Salvos gave out more than 90 hampers and distributed toys to about 120 families in the local area.
Deniliquin Salvos community engagement worker Sandra Whyborn expressed her gratitude to the people in the community who provided support in various ways, enabling the Salvos to achieve this “significant feat”.
"We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who volunteered or provided some type of support this year,“ she said.
“A special shout out to the the organisers of the Marc Kingston Memorial Toy Run - the Ulysses Motorcycle Club and the Deniliquin Vintage and Antique Car Club - for their contributions towards the toy hampers.
“The Edward River Library donated books that came from their giving tree too.”
Ms Whyborn said SunRice also provided food product donations, and the Deniliquin Creative Writers made a financial contribution to help fill the hampers.
