Through her involvement with the online community and photography ‘game’ GuruShots, Ms Munnerley’s work has been peer selected for exhibitions in Australia, Colombia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
The Melbourne exhibition opens today at the BSide Gallery in Brunswick St, Fitzroy, and is only being showcased for two days.
The Colombia exhibition will be held next week.
Featuring in Fitzroy is a stunning photo of a kookaburra enjoying Ms Munnerley’s garden.
“I love all birds and am always on the lookout,” Ms Munnerley said.
“I keep an ear out for the different calls, but this kookaburra landed where I could see it from my lounge room.
“I had my camera on me and took the shot through a sliding glass door.
“Since this shot the kookaburra hung around for about three months - it’s a juvenile - so I was able to get many, many photos of it.
“Then one day he stopped visiting, and I haven’t seen it since. But that’s nature.”
Ms Munnerley will be making her way to Melbourne tomorrow to see her work on display, along with about 39 other prints and a few digital submissions.
Her proud mother Fay Munnerley will be joining her for the trip.
This sunflower shot will appear in an exhibition in Columbia.

The Colombia exhibition also features a photo taken in Ms Munnerley’s garden, and will be presented digitally at the Espacio El Dorado Gallery in Bogotá, Columbia from January 25-27.
It forms part of the ‘Art of Black & White’ exhibition.
“Two packets of giant sunflower seeds were planted in the front garden, and this is one of them,” Ms Munnerley said of the chosen shot.
“They came in just so beautifully, and the background is the neighbours’ trees.”
Later this year, Ms Munnerley will have a photo titled ‘Grey fantail’ included in the ‘Art of Photography’ exhibition at PhotoNorth Festival in Leeds, United Kingdom in April.
And a photo of a blossoming branch of Hawaiian flowers has been selected for the ‘My Perfect Shot’ exhibition at Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago this July.
Ms Munnerley said being chosen for any exhibition is an achievement, but said being selected by the peer voting system from a vast number of entries is humbling.
For the Colombia exhibition alone, she said there were 63 million votes for 43,000 photos from 41 countries.
“Like most exhibitions you pay a fee to enter the competition, but there’s still no guarantee your photo will be selected to be showcased.
“It is all peer selected, so chosen by other photographers.
“And when people vote your name is not on the photo, so it is based on merit alone.”
Ms Munnerley encourages anyone who might be in Melbourne this weekend to head over the BSide Gallery to view the exhibition.
For those who cannot be there in person, Ms Munnerley intends to share a live video on her Facebook page - Kerris Photography.
