There’s about $14,000 in prizes up for grabs this year - the 31st annual art show presented by Edward River Art Society and the Rotary Club of Deniliquin.
Artists from across the Deniliquin region and beyond are invited to enter.
ERAS president Louise Graham said filling out the entry form is just the first stage of entering, with artists able to keep working on their works up until the delivery dates.
Entries must be lodged by March 1 to be included in the art show, with art to then be delivered by March 25 in time for judging on March 27.
In 2024 there are eight sections, each with a prize for best artwork, and a highly commended.
These are:
• Works on paper: including watercolour, pastels, ink & wash, pens, pencils, charcoal - $800 prize
• Oils - $800 prize
• Acrylics - $800 prize
• Mixed medium - $800 prize
• Miniature and small paintings: A5 size or less in size - $800 prize
• 3D art works - $800 prize
• Black & White Photography - $400 prize
• Colour Photography - $400 prize
In addition to the section prizes, artists can nominate entry into the open prizes.
These include the three $2000 acquisitive prizes, with the winning paintings going to one of the event’s sponsors.
Others include:
• Local scene: depicting Deniliquin and district (with recognisable subject matter) - $800 prize
• Local artist: artist residing within 50km of Deniliquin - $800 prize
• Young artist: artist aged 12-18 years old - $500 prize
• People’s choice: voted by Art Show visitors - $300 prize
