Lightning strike causes blaze

Two trucks were sent in response to the blaze, as well as one heavy plant vehicle.

Firefighters arrived to find the old shearing quarters and a couple of gumtrees alight.

The suspected cause was lightning hitting a nearby power pole.

The trees and the building were unable to be extinguished before being destroyed.

Firefighters officially declared the fire extinguished at 1.30pm Wednesday.

Murray River Police District Chief Inspector Michael Fuller said the fire is not being treated as suspicious.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
