Local sisters Can Assist

Deniliquin sisters Georgie and Olivia Butcher have made a significant contribution to Can Assist by hosting tghier own cake stall.

Demonstrating remarkable community spirit, they raised $80.20 to support people seeking trseatment for cancer through the sale of treats and drinks in thier neighbourhood.

The enterprising sisters, aged eight and 10, conceived the fundraising idea independently, crafting most products themselves with a touch of guidance from their grandmother.

Can Assist is an organisation that offers support and assistance to people in country NSW living with cancer.

“By providing financial assistance, practical support and raising awareness of the inequities, our volunteer network ensures that country people are given the same opportunities and treatment choices as those who live in city centres” Can Assist’s website says.

With 55 branches spread across NSW and a dedicated network of 3,000 volunteers, Can Assist's impact reaches far and wide throughout the state.

Through their donation, sisters Georgie and Olivia are helping to support people from country NSW living with a cancer diagnosis.

The sisters were extremely grateful for the support they received, wanting to thank the neighbours on their street.
